Sundanese people must know about Si Kabayan, he is the figure of folktales that are told from generation to generation by grandparents to grandchildren, now Si Kabayan story was made into books, even was made into films. Si Kabayan highly favored by the Sundanese. The proof is the story of Si Kabayan never ending. If we thorough the stories, Si Kabayan has inconsistent character. in several stories, the character of Si Kabayan is not always same.
Sometimes he portrayed as lazy, shameless, and boldly toying others, including his father in law, Abah. Sometimes he also portrayed as an innocent, clever, and brave heart. But basically, the person who created the Si Kabayan could describe that Si Kabayan have the nature of the innocent and not acted arbitrarily.
In Banten there is a grave were considered of the Si Kabayan grave. Who knows the truth of the person buried in this grave, whether Si Kabayan whose the cast of folktale or another Si Kabayan. Si Kabayan in the folktale is fictional characters, only the imaginary person who created the story, so it is impossible there is a grave of Si Kabayan. But there is a possibility, probably after the funeral, a story about Si Kabayan spread, maybe written or re-created by the maker of a folktale. The truth of a man named Si Kabayan must be proven scientifically by the research.

Si Kabayan "Life Is A Laugh And Love"
One day I Kabayan and his friend were walking to somewhere. Along the way his friend was astonished at the behavior of Si Kabayan. Each uphill road Si Kabayan laughing like receiving happiness. And conversely, Each downhill road, he sobbed like getting grief. He does not understand it, finally his friend asked:
"Kabayan, I do not understand why every uphill road you was laughing out loud, even though I deeply felt tired walk on it? If it goes downhill, you cry like people who are distressed, even though I feel happy, because walking is not too tired. Kabayan what's so wrong? "
Si Kabayan then replied, "Ah, there's nothing wrong. You just were not thinking. For me laugh in any way uphill, because I know that after it must be a way to downhill. Not that it's encouraging? Therefore, I laughed. Conversely, if walking downhill, I feel sad, for sure after the way down, there would be an uphill road. Walking on the uphill road is tired right? Therefore, I cried all the way downhill. "

Si Kabayan Fasting

One day, when it was almost time for day prayer in the month of fasting Si Kabayan got a cigar from his friend, Ki Silah, whose just returning from the city.
"For later if you finish the fasting Kabayan" Ki said Silah said.
"Thank you, Ki Silah," replied Si Kabayan.
After his friends left, Si Kabayan smelt the great cigars and scented it with his nose. The desire to smoke a cigar comes once. But the fear of getting caught by someone else, therefore he went to the hut in the middle of the field, then he started smoking the cigar.
While enjoying the fragrant of smoke a cigar and suddenly he heard a voice calling, a voice of his father in law, Abah, "Kabayan... Kabayan!!! !!!
Si Kabayan nervous, then the cigar he inserted into kopiah (like a hat), because he donw want to discharge it into the fields.
Abah surprised, when he saw smoke coming out of the top of Si Kabayan head.
"Kabayan, What is it that burns your Kopiah?" He asked.
Si Kabayan more nervous and shy, but immediately replied: "eh, eh, eh, eh, this Abah, a cigar, a former dawn earlier, I forgot to put out."

Si Kabayan and The Talo
One day I Kabayan see Nyi Iteung, his wife, cleaning taro that taken from his garden. Si Kabayan then asked:
"Nyi Iteung, do you know not how to eat taro that does not itch in the throat?"
Nyi Iteung then answered, "That's easy, Kang. Peel the tuber skin of taro, then washed with clean water until the sap clear, then steamed. Because the sap is gone, it will not be tickled in the throat ".
"If such a long process Nyi! The quickest and easiest way is before eating, scratching out the taro! "Si Kabayan replied and walked away, leaving Nyi Iteung.

Si Kabayan Often go to the doctor at the health clinic, without thinking, every little pain he always visit a doctor, the which led the doctor to be annoyed, because of abdominal pain he went to the doctor, bitten by ants he went to the doctor, plagued by a spider he went to the doctor, cracked skin feet he wanted to be injected by a doctor. Anyway, all kinds of pain always go to the doctor. One day I Kabayan went to the doctor. He complained all of body aches.
"Where it hurt?" Asked the doctor.
"All body pain, Doc."
"Try a more clear, where exactly?"
"Everywhere!" Said Si Kabayan.
Kabayan then touched his right knee with his finger. "Aw, hurt!"
Then touch the cheeks, forehead, even his stomach, all accompanied by cries of pain. "See Doc, everything hurts!"
Doctors then examine it carefully. "The pain is not from your body, Kabayan, but your finger is injured!"

Si Kabayan and his father-in-law, Abah, traveling to the city. There they visited the museum. In front of an ancient Egyptian mummy, right in front of the stone, there is writing "1227BC".

Si Kabayan get sick, coughs and colds, due to rain the night before.

In the afternoon when the time to take medicine, Nyi Iteung invisible.
"Maybe Nyi Iteung was visiting an Abah's house." Si Kabayan muttered. Si Kabayan was taking drugs that he gets from a doctor.
Nyi Iteung then came, and with astonishment, she saw the Kabayan was pounding.
"Kang Kabayan, are you get better? why do you an exercise?" Nyi asked Iteung.
"Akang.. is.. not.. doing.. exercise... Nyi". Said Si Kabayan panting.
"But Akang forget to read the instructions of drinking cough syrup. There was written, shake before drinking."
Apparently Si Kabayan bounding around so that the medicine can be shaken in the stomach. Nyi Iteung are getting more confused to hear the explanation.
