In the modern era, the story of Si Kabayan adaptated into movies. This movie is not connected to each other, but the scenario tells the same story is a love story Si Kabayan and Nyi Iteung. All Movies Si Kabayan has a funny groove and very entertaining. The First Movie, titled Si Kabayan in 1975, directed by Sharna Sofyan tell that Si Kabayan propose to Nyi Iteung, although rejected by Abah, Nyi Iteung’s Father, but they successfully married. After marrying, Si Kabayan does not change his behavior as lazy as before. Since embarrassed by the behavior of Si Kabayan, Nyi Iteung go to town. This movie was directed by Eddy D. Iskandar and Si Kabayan played by Didi Petet, Nyi Iteung played by Paramitha Rusady, and Saribanon by Nurul Arifin. Paramitha Rusadi nominated in Indonesian Film Festival in 1989 for best supporting actress in this movie.
The third movie titled Si Kabayan Dan Gadis Kota, the story is Si Kabayan must be accompanied Inge, a downtown girl, who conduct research in the village for undergraduate thesis. Kang Ibing who viewed Si Kabayan alone with Inge, then tell Nyi Iteung, Si Kabayan wife. Nyi Iteung was jealous. Even Abah, Nyi Iteung’s father intervened their affairs. Nurul Arifin plays Saribanon again. Joni Kemod played by Rudi Djamil. While Kang Ibing played by Kang Ibing who played as Si Kabayan in the first movie. This movie was very successful and repeat the success of the second movie, Si Kabayan Saba Kota.
The fourth movie titled Si Kabayan And The Son of Genie in 1991. The movie is about Si Kabayan became students in a boarding school to get near Nyi Iteung, The boarding school leader’s or Ajengan Pesantren leader’s daughter. Then he was helped by the Son of Genie, whose bothered him before, but then they became friends can even manifest themselves. One day a friend of Nyi Iteung’s father, Mr. Cokro, return the favor he had ever received. Nyi Iteung asked schooled at IAIN Yogyakarta. Nyi Iteung went to that school, and Si Kabayan left lonely. In Yogya, Nyi Iteung forced to get along with Jerry, Mrs. Cokro’s nephew. They are expected to fall in love. After directing three movies of Si Kabayan, Eddy D. Iskandar becomes a screenwriter in the fifth movie, titled Si Kabayan Saba Metropolitan or Si Kabayan Traveling to the Metropolitan city. The movie is directed by Maman Firmansjah. The movie tells the story of Si Kabayan who do not want to sell their land. Ben and Joescano, Hartawan men, in cooperation with Hartawan's wife, wants to buy land owned by Si Kabayan and Abah. Their land is located in a picturesque village. Abah was courted in order to sell their land, promised to be meeting with Dangdut singer adored, Abah finally agreed, but Si Kabayan refused. Abah also threatened Si Kabayan to no longer be having a relationship with Nyi Iteung, Abah’s daughter. The last movie of Si Kabayan is the seventh movie in 2010, sixteen years from the sixth movie. The movie is very different from the previous movie, this movie is more modern and directed by Guntur Soeharjanto. Main actors Si Kabayan played by Jamie Aditya while Nyi Iteung played by Rianti Cartwright. Didi Petet that being Si Kabayan from the second film until the sixth movie, played Abah, Nyi Iteung’s father, on this seventh movie. Meriam Bellina played Ambu, Abah’s wife. Meriam Bellina had played Inge in Si Kabayan Dan Gadis Kota. Many Indonesian young comedians also played in this movie such as Aming, Sogi Indra Dhuajam, Edi Broccoli, and etc.
The seventh Si Kabayan’s movie entitled Kabayan Jadi Milyuner or Kabayan become millionaires. This movie tells the story of a real estate entrepreneur, Boss Rocky, who wants to buy the school's land and want to be used as a resort instead. But he could not carry it easily because a young man innocent but cleverly named Kabayan. Together with his friend Armasan, Kabayan managed to make trouble. Then Boss Rocky falls in love with Nyi Iteung. Boss Rocky ordered Nyi Iteung to be a spy, and trapping Si Kabayan so he would purchase the land with the lure of love. In order Nyi Iteung could not refuse, Boss Rocky involved Abah and Ambu, Nyi Iteung parents, in order to participate deceive Si Kabayan.
